The tea was very tasteful, and tasted as it was made from actual mint leaves and not artificial. The kabob was very good and came with vegetables, cousin and salad. I'm not sure what kind of dressing they are on the salad, but need to find out it was so delicious!! I'll go back to Definatley.
The service was excellent. He walked us through the menu, gave us his suggestions, and answered our questions. He seemed genuinely excited to share the cuisine and the experience with us. The food was unique and delicious. We will definitely be returning.
You're very nice here, but you don't have wine or beer that would have been nice as it was our date night. The food was super rich, but it was my first time Moroccan. Not for me. The staff was very friendly and helped us select some things. The ambience must be heated. I always see Moroccan culture as warm and colorful. The Stripe Mall environment was cool in the temperature and the windows would look so good if they added only some draped curtains. Red would be amazing. Also add some votives as the images make it look like a place to sink. The more traditional seating area is nearby, but quite small. Eating was good, it's just not my thing.
My friend and I don't eat much, but if we do, we like to get ethnic cuisine. I had read about Marrakesh in the Daily Gazette, so we thought we would try. The evening we visited was not busy, so we had our choice of seats (and they offer traditional seating on pillows on the floor). You can see that much care and thought went into the layout and menu. Yes, it is in a strip-mell location, but in addition, a lot of thought went into this restaurant to bring the taste and feel of Morocco to the capital region. (After my visit I spoke to an employee and she informed me that it was her husband who had begun the restaurant. They are both from Morocco, so they have a great understanding and love of food and culture) The waitress was very attentive and we got our food quickly. The food is traditional and well prepared. Both main courses were excellent. Dessert with traditional Moroccan coffee was a good end to an excellent evening. Definitely not your usual fare for Clifton Park, but it is worth eating Moroccan dishes ready and served well.
Food and decor are wonderful. The chef (owner perhaps also? was super attentive and chatted with us a little about the recipes and history. Was really cool. Many delicious vegan options and carnivore plates as well. Not much for dessert, but they said that the menu will soon be extended. Really enjoyable night outside. Even my 9-year-old loves it.
