Chicken on the special was a little drier but not as dusty as the gravel driveway and parking. Was wondering if the same chicken was the special the day before as well. Carrots were undercooked and the baked potato was average. Right outta high school wait staff only refilled drinks when asked. (Beware: A friend found out at the end of the evening that coffee refills are NOT free! Add a tasty, nicely stocked medium cheese tray appetizer to the event and with gratuity and taxes you 're looking at an $84 tab. What 's to like: Magnificent view, good appetizers, charming building with a cool history. Reservations are also allowed, which led to immediate seating. Friends that ordered steak were much better off than those of us taking chances with the yard bird.
The food and the atmosphere was amazing service was great people were kind and the view is breathtaking I suggest going in spring or fall if you like The view definitely will be going back again
Been to the White Dog several times over the last 10 years, usually with a large group, and it’s always been good. This time it was a couples date. Things started well, ordered a cheese board and our drinks. The other three drinks took in excess of 30 minutes, my Long Island took over 45 minutes. The cheese board came fairly quick and was good. They didn’t return to take our orders for the main course for 45 minutes. The waitress started by telling us the special and then said, but I’m pretty sure we’re out. We then had all planned to order ribeyes which she told us they were also out of….. every size apparently. The men settled for NY strips while the wives got the chicken and pork chops. The steaks were good, cooked medium rare, as ordered. They were a little fatty but still good. The chicken, not great. The pork chop dry and with the fat, not much edible meat. My wife’s broccoli was cold, as well as her baked potato and not cooked all the way through. My potatoes were ok, my asparagus flavor was fine but it was also cold. It appears that they have lost some long standing employees with the new ownership. Some familiar faces out there are gone. The bartender didn’t seem to know how to make drinks with is probably the reason for the delay. For the drink prices my LIT was just ok. The Old Fashioned is only 2 sips at best for $8. We were hoping for a “once a year” expensive dinner and at least get a little buzzed. Turned out to be expensive, and not a great experience. We won’t be back, not when I’m paying for it anyway.
Nice atmosphere, great service. Steaks were good. We sat bottom level, would've enjoyed better view out but not much view out like upstairs has. Room temp was comfortable. Definitely will go again
Omg...don't get me started, worst food worst service ever and way too high especially now that I found out from someone in the know that they buy most of their food from homeland...seriously people, dirty, broken furniture, stagnant water puddles on floor, neglectful workers especially the hippy hostess, the 2022 cook from England they had must be gone. I've had better steaks at Texas Road house. Save your time and money. Reservations, What a joke still promoting the fact that they were the best restaurant in Oklahoma in 2022. Well this is 2024 and
