The LAb Cocktail Bistro - Cluj-Napoca

Went there 2 or 3 times, as they had special offers for lunch. Decent food, although quite expensive, if not on the special offer. Went there once at nigh, with a big group - not so pleasant, as the service was real bad. Only one waiter, the beer was not cold enough and the girl told us this is the best she can offer... The food came late etc. As a big minus, I don't like the attitude of the personnel who park their cars on the spot, although illegally. in fact, last year, people living nearby addressed the police to install special protection in order for a big white van which is used for delivery at this restaurant not to park on the sidewalk.Ah, another minus - in the last couple of months, as I go often nearby I see they have a big sign that their POS is not working. Com'on guys, I understand for 1-2 days, but you have the notice from the beginning of June.

It's a "scientific" place, with particular design. It has good cocktails, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic and it serves a few meals.

My partner and I stumbled upon "The Lab" over the New Years Holiday and it was terrific. The chef/owner greeted us (he also puts together the super cool background music) and the staff were friendly and attentive without being pushy like so many American wait staff tend to be. Every course was worthwhile. Steak was big and cooked perfectly. It is an interesting menu executed well which just enough panache to make it interesting but not stupid.Totally recommend it!

We went as a group to eat dinner. The theme is very cool, cozy place. We tried some cocktail which were all great. The service is very fast we waited for our food order no more than 15 min and it was delicious. The barbecue ribs just melt in your mouth. Will definitely come back.

I especially love visiting places that are not alike to the places I can find in my hometown. The LAb is one of those places.-The interior design is inspired by a lab in all aspects ( I even got a drink in a berzelius cup inspired glass)-Their menu is full of quirky suggestions under some drinks.-They have some signature drinks that are purely out of this world and surprisingly good. (Try the Aloe Vera and Raspberry one).Will surely come back.
