Ocean View Bar Restaurant

We stopped by for lunch at this restaurant. Some of the staff appeared uninterested. There were only three tables occupied in a large room when our group of five arrived at 1:30. When we were seated, we requested kids' menus but were informed that they were not available, as it was just a brunch menu. The kids ended up ordering scones, which were not available. Our server was not very helpful. The club sandwich was good, and the chicken wrap was excellent. The kids ended up ordering chips. Despite the disappointing experience, we would consider giving this restaurant another try, as it seemed like our server may have just been having an off day.

My family recently attended Balcony BBQ, an 'all you can eat' event, and we were very impressed. The food selection was fantastic with plenty of great choices. We were seated in a comfortable booth and found the staff to be friendly and helpful. We were encouraged to go back for more, which we gladly did - I even had starters and dessert twice! I can't fault the food, service, staff, or location. We always make sure to have a meal at this restaurant when we're in Downings, and this visit was just as welcoming as our previous experiences. If you're in the Downings/Carraig Airt area, I highly recommend a visit to this restaurant. It offers good value and plenty of choice. Our kids especially loved the chicken wings from the regular menu, and they couldn't get enough of the BBQ chicken wings on Wednesday night! Be sure to book ahead as the restaurant is popular and tends to get busy.

The food at this family restaurant is excellent. Enjoy pre-dinner drinks on the balcony with sea views before dining inside in a beautiful setting. The service, food, and ambience are all top-notch. Don't forget to try their delicious cocktails!

Myself and a number of family members visited Ocean View for food and drinks last week . The service was unreal as was the food. We had steak, prawn tacos , curry, wings and all were to die for! Can’t wait until we’re back in Downings to come again. Ale and Barry made us so welcome!
