For our main courses, we each ordered a different pasta dish and were not disappointed. The pasta was perfectly cooked and the sauces were rich and flavorful. To top off our meal, we decided to share a tiramisu for dessert. It was the perfect way to end the meal, light and creamy with just the right amount of sweetness. Overall, our dining experience at Padrino's was fantastic. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was just what we were looking for. We will definitely be returning to Padrino's in the future and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great Italian restaurant in Cobourg.
I visited the restaurant on August 5th, 2017 and ordered the Linguine del Mare dish for $28.
I usually don't give a 1-star rating, but here's what happened: I made a reservation for 7pm and we arrived to be seated around 6:55pm.
Came here for a friend's birthday dinner after hearing good things about it. We ordered the charcuterie board to share for an appetizer, but were told they didn't have any. We ordered the grilled calamari instead. It was okay, big portion. We asked if they had any tomahawk steaks, as we had heard about them, but again were told they didn't have any. The wine menu was on a laminated placemat and didn't even say the brand of wine, it just said Cabernet or petit sirah. We ordered a bottle of the Petit sirah for $65. The waiter brought out small dollar store glasses. We asked for bigger ones and were told they didn't have any. I saw other tables with some, so I asked again. The waiter said he would have to go wash some himself, as their dishwasher quit that week. We also found out the line chef had left this week too. We had to even ask to get some utensils and water. At this point we were very surprised and disappointed about the place. The food came, and it was delicious. The steaks were cooked perfectly and we also had the salmon and the veal Parmesan. The chef came out and we complimented him on the food and mentioned we were disappointed they didn't have the charcuterie board. He said they did have them and brought us out some of their smoked duck bacon. He also brought our friend a piece of blueberry cheesecake with a candle for his birthday. We commented to our waiter that the owner had made rounds to the other table around us, but skipped our table. The owner came by and dropped off 4 shots for us and left. He never came to ask how our meal was, even after we spent $400. It's too bad...it seems like the only one who cares about this place is the chef. If service was better I would have given it 4 stars. Service definitely needs to improve before I would go back.
I went to Marca's solo during a night in Cobourg for work purposes. Nice place, wait staff was friendly, food was delicious and they make you feel very welcomed. Big thanks to George and Vince. I will definitely return! TT
