Truly, the food isn't too bad but the wait for them was quite a while. The service was good, we were greeted warmly. Amongst our ordered items, the lasagne stood out. It was really tasty. We also enjoyed the vegetables than came with the steaks. The rest of the dishes were just ok. We would return to try out other items on the menu.
This restaurant was great with the previous lebo owners who were very attentive and actual proper chefs with cooking backgrounds in the italian cuisine. however with the new owners this restaurant is a joke with poor meals n serving sizes with little or no taste at all. there are signs everywhere saying you have to pay for containers or extra chair and such. go to lygon if you want italian. the new owners have destroyed alamaros reputation.
Was not authentic Italian as said. Not that I didn't mind halal however they should say that when I order a pizza that they do not have any bacon OR ham. Garlic bread was stale. Very poor meal
We had one steak with mushroom sauce, one chicken and pasta.. realy nice . i will recommend for it if some looking halal italian food .
I took my whole family there last night to celebrate a family event. We ordered Pizza, Marinated Whole Barramundi, ChickenParma, Fettucine, Steak and Fritto Misto wih orange juice and Blueheaven Milkshake. 1. Pizza base was soggy so it felt gluggy when we tried to eat it. 2. The Barramundi was supposed to be baked in the wodfired oven. Instead it was deep fried with chunks of scale still stuck on. I took a bite and nearly gagged as the scale crunched between my teeth. Also it tasted muddy and stale. I slathered it with lemon juice to hide the horrible taste but unfortunately that didn't help much. I tried to eat the Salad with it's grey dressing which I found bitter and foul. 3. The Chicken Parma was lukewarm on the outside and cold inside. My daughter managed to eat only a couple of bites. 4. The famous steak was supposed to be medium well done. it came as nearly black but lukewarm and tasted like old meat. Even the sauce couldn't cover the bad taste of old beef. 5. Fettucine nearly wasn't served. We had to ask for it again half an hour after the last food was brought in. It was over cooked, oily with thin runny sauce. 6. Fritto Misto was a platter of deep fried mixed seafood in batter. It tasted like frozen over cooked seafood as the calamari rings and baby octopus was rubbery. All the salads had grey bitter tasting disgusting dressing sprinkled on top. The accompanying Sauces were thin, runny and less than average. 7. I asked them twice about what was in the Blueheaven Milkshake. Both time the answer was, "We don't know. It's just a topping." When the milkshake came it had no topping at all. The whole thing was blue. Also it was srprisingly warm and tasted like custard made from custard powder. There was no taste or sign of ice cream in it either. So we spent $168.40 on totally unedible horrible food at Alamaro (so called Italian) restaurant run by non Italian family who actually has no idea how to cook authentic Italian cuisine. No Thanks for riuning our special celebration.
