We ate here last month and were not disappointed. The idea of a sampler maker menu is great, as we had to try a number of dishes that we did not normally choose, and they were all absolutely beautiful. Louisa (the owner) made us very welcome, although this was our first visit. Social distancing measures were unfortunately necessary, but as guests we do not really feel that they had any effect on the culinary experience (other than our table was a distance from our next neighbour). It'll be safe to return.
Ate here a year ago and it was great! Amazing old building! Eating was top-notch! Pudding was one of the best I ever tasted! Chocolate orange mousse I think it was!! Have a day to eat again!
Excellent and the food is please those who are not used for vegetarian or vegan foods. Cosy and intimate feeling, never too crowded, even if fully booked. Desserts and wines are also great. Family race.
Tasteful restaurant discreetly tucked away beneath Cockermouth Castle. Maintains a high standard of fancy vegetarian food; my only problem with Q&M (other than the price! is that my subconscious apparently believes it's entirely vegan, since I'm always surprised to find there are things I can't eat. Still, there's a wide range of options for vegans (both sweet and savoury . On my budget I go there once a year and am never disappointed. There is a cosy little anteroom where you wait for your table, with nibbles (not always vegan and interesting books on veggie cooking to read. Trip to the toilet as per usual for Cockermouth i.e. a journey into the bowels of the earth past such fascinating things as a defunct kitchen range.
