The bruschetta and garlic bread was awesome...I had the Veal Scallopini that was tender and flavoursome - 2 colleagues had the Lamb Cutlets that they are still raving over and the other meal was a steak...cooked to perfection!! Congratulations to Kurt and Caroline who made our night feel like we were in a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ venue!
Great food at a reasonable price. After a couple of days on the road, we were looking for good honest pub food. That is what we received at this local hotel. A juicy chicken schnitzel with salad and pepper sauce was close to perfect. Matched with crunchy chips and a nice salad. My wife had the Prawn and Crab Linguine, which was a huge plate of rich sauce and fresh local seafood. An all round great experience.
Thought we'd give this hotel's bistro a try as it looks good on TV. Called in for lunch on Sunday May 7, we had a drink then ordered a Roast Pork each. Did not get the 'free' drinks that were advertised with the roasts, OK wear that, but we did expect roast veg & greens with the meal. It was a Sunday Roast after all, nah! we got 2 thick chunks of loin(?) that were as dry and tough as old boots, some carrot strips & sweet potato (not roasted) strips. The gravy was nice, but that was it. It was a first and last for us, first ever roast without roasted veg and last time we'll venture there.
Had eaten here in 2016 having prawn risotto was as Manu says "To die for".The 2017 offerings of peppered lamb rump on risotto with spinach and jus and we had Veal Scallopinni. The peppered lamb was cooked perfectly but sadly the risotto lacked flavour. For this dish we score you a 6.The Scallopinni promised to excite but what we got was a veal scnitty with an inadequate amount of sauce which would have given both Pete and Manu canniptions. For this we score you a 4. Lol.The hihhlight of yge nihht was the cheesy garlic Turkish for which we score you an 8..Final words - Average with no Kramer " Gidday Up "
Waves Bistro is situated at the back of the Pier Hotel which itself is situated at the end of the dining strip at Coffs Harbour Jetty. The Jetty itself has a good range of quality establishments and although the food at Waves was enjoyable, the same sized steak was $5 dearer than the one I had at another establishment yesterday. Quite pleasant surroundings. Not many customers while I was there so my meal was served relatively quickly. Amusing advertising at the front of the hotel.
