Efes Kebab in Coimbra will offer you a delicious and warm surprise, right in the centre of the city. It is located between the two major landmarks of the city, Praca da Republica and Santa Cruz cathedral, only steps away from the central market Mercado Municipal . I have been eating there many times and I keep returning, for the quality of the food, the good prices, the beautifully decorated place and especially for the kind owners, a heart-warming family which will make your snack time feel like lunch at home with your family. Do not miss the home-made Turkish pie pide , prepared on the spot, in more variations!

We happened upon this place as we were walking from the parking lot to the major sites in Coimbra. If you're looking for a break from Portugese food or just want something a little different I highly recommend this place. The family that runs the restaurant is very lovely, the space is extremely clean, and most importantly the food is amazing!!!! It's made to order, very fresh, and tasty. It is also reasonably priced. We loved our meal so much that we ordered pizzas to go so that we could eat them on our drive to our next town. The meat also is halal for those who are looking for halal food.
