I had a fish soup and the stuffed roast vein. both were great. service was also excellent. I guess I was the only tourist there, at the same time were all locals on their lunch break.
Our two main courses, goat and rockfish, were generous portions and spectacular. The service was friendly and attentive. This comfortable yet unassuming restaurant is a gem.
Giro was good for a family dinner. It has a slightly old fashioned retro air not a bad thing. We were three hungry people: for dinner we had bacalhao a bras, octopus and potatoes, turnip greens, a salad, steak and sausage on a skewer. Food was all tasty and well prepared, and certainly enough. We also shared a caramel dessert OK. Other customers were mainly local, but the very friendly young waiter spoke good English. A bottle of good quality local (Bairrada) red wine went well with the meals. I have rated this at five stars, not because of outstanding gourmet food, but because of the overall friendly and pleasant experience. The cost was 90 euros, including tip.
Typical familiar style restaurant. We tried picanha, which is served with prawns in a tile, and grilled fish. The price was fairly low for the quality of the food served and the quantity. Appreciated that it was one of the few restaurants with open cuisine still at 21.30!
