Gateway Market Yarra Valley

Last weekend, I had the pleasure of being a guest of the Yarra Valley Regional Food Group on a fantastic tour through the Yarra Valley. Our goal was to discover great food and wine, and we certainly achieved that! Orson Koch from Yarra Valley Transfers was our chauffeur for the day. He was not only charming but also incredibly knowledgeable, sharing insights about the local landscape, culinary highlights, and hidden gems. Having him drive was very convenient since we had a lot to explore throughout the day.

We visited as part of a winery tour. The presentation on how they grow peppers in the greenhouse was informative, but poorly timed; the older guests on the tour slowly started to leave due to the oppressive humidity and headed back to the café. The dining area was lovely, but the pastries were disappointing—make sure to sample them before buying, as they were overly sweet. The peppers and marmalades were beautiful, and their pastries looked amazing.

We enjoyed delicious roasted sandwiches filled with eggs, speck, and cheese! The fantastic flavor came from the high-quality ingredients, complemented by a sweet capsicum relish that they offer in their shop.

Beautiful fresh food and wonderful service. beautiful environment for lunch and visit to the fascinating hydroponics garden.

The salate and dessert were good. very friendly staff. will try other dishes again.
