Champs Chicken - College Park

I wouldn't recommend wasting your time or gas on this place. If they're not out of chicken, there's always some issue, and you won't find out until you reach the speaker, leaving you stuck in line with no way to exit. I just waited 45 minutes only to be told they only accept cash, which is frustrating since most places now prefer card payments, and I don’t carry cash anymore. They really should have some signage about that. This is my third attempt at this location, and I've yet to have a successful experience. I ended up driving to the Riverdale location, which was only three miles away, and their drive-thru was much better.

Every time I visit this restaurant or order delivery, there's always an issue. They really need to reconsider whoever is in charge of their inventory because they are constantly out of something—it's a never-ending problem. This last order was particularly frustrating. I chose to order delivery specifically because it's nearby and I enjoy their biscuits and fried okra. First, I received a phone call informing me that they were out of a menu item, which is becoming a regular occurrence. Then, when my order finally arrived, I found out they had sent the wrong side item, so no fried okra and no biscuits. If only they could hire employees who are more efficient and organized, they might stop losing business due to their ongoing mistakes.

The drive-thru line was completely stalled, and I foolishly sat there waiting for a long time. Eventually, I became so frustrated that I decided to go next door to Bojangles, where I only had to wait about 15 minutes. The service here was extremely disappointing!

I saw the reviews, it's the reason I chose to drive out of my way to come to this particular location. Mistake. Chicken was obviously sitting for a while, it was dried out and cold. Fries were burnt... I threw it out after a taste...not going back. It may very well be a good spot, maybe I caught it at a bad moment. I'm okay with being wrong, hopefully your experience is better than mine.

I am a fried chicken girl. But, usually I don't feel like cooking it myself. The fine folks at Church's take care of me every time. Their chicken is always moist and juicy and their sides are perfect. I love the jalapeno cheese bombers so much my husband and I always fight over the last one! Honey butter biscuits are a guilty pleasure that I can not live without. Thankfully, Church's has me covered. I love to stop by on the way home from work and pick up a dozen or two. I just snack on them all evening while watching TV. They are a perfect little dessert item if you ask me!
