We have four to five rooms for three to four days..They never told us that the hotel was undergoing renovation, and when we asked during check-in, they could not give us an answer...We would have stayed somewhere else ! Hallways were very hot, but at least our rooms were cool. There is only one elevator working, and the pool is closed the pool is why we stay at this hotel . The carpet in our room was nasty.I do not recommend this hotel !
I stayed here from the evening of 7/17 through the morning of 7/19. The room stayed cool, and I like that I could keep the AC fan on for white noise. It was nice and quiet for my entire stay. The shower was nice and hot. We had meetings downstairs in the Mockingbird rooms. Breakfast and lunch were provided by the hotel, and they were delicious. So was the coffee and tea. My only complaint would be that there was construction currently underway while we were there, which reduced the usage of some of the elevators and made the hallways and lobby uncomfortably warm. But I won’t hold that against their rating. The staff were great, and I am very pleased with my stay overall.
An older, dated hotel, undergoing renovation. It was supposed to be completed before our conference but it wasn't. The hallways and meeting rooms are hot, but our room is cool (at least). There is only one elevator working and the pool is closed. The headboards in our room have apparently seen a lot of use. I hope they are part of the renovation. The staff is very nice and service overall has been fine. The location is good and close to lots of stores and restaurants.
Convenient to TAMU but in need of TLC. Despite construction, there were features that needed attention. Our room thermostat had a mind of it 's own. We had no hot water. The door lock was torn from the door jam. Small, cosmetic things needed attention. It had the feeling of a last stand . The breakfast is not complimentary and expensive.
I had the worst experience at this hotel! Check out the photos I posted, and you'll understand why. The bathroom exhaust fan was broken, and the air conditioning barely worked—it just didn't get cold. The headboard of the bed was falling apart, as you can see in the pictures. Only one light in the room functioned, and this seemed to be a common problem across all the rooms. The cleanliness was subpar, and there was constant noise from construction all around the building. I booked this room to relax, not to be constantly disturbed. I reached out to the front desk twice about switching rooms, but every alternative was even worse. I really don't understand how this place has such high ratings; they must be fake reviews!
