My meal was awesome I couldn't finish all of my pancakes with the Avocado and Bacon Eggs Benedict that I ordered with the house potatoes that was super great!!,.and I'm grateful that the kitchen was accommodating to make my eggs fried over hard as I don'tlike them to be runny,..one place I went here in TX tried to correct me in saying that Eggs Benedict don't come any otherway,..after being a chef for 20+ years I was quite surprised to hear that,.and to know that in TX an egg can't be poachedhard,..but at Black Walnut Cafe they found a way to make it work Thank You!!
You go to the counter and order your food, choose your table and wait for your food, in two large halls with tables and a central bar, I like the concept, created a very nice environment that doesn't feel crawdads like a lot of restaurants. The foodis very good and service is also good ????
So, I was really excited and looking forward to trying this place because of the reviews and photos. However, we were pretty disappointed. I got the Lobster Benedict, the only thing I happened to take a picture of. The lobster was really over cooked, aswell as the eggs. They didn 't run at all when I opened them. The flavor was missing on all parts. The only thing I really had astrong flavor of was the green onions. I took a bite of my grandmas plate. It was the biscuit and gravy from her Texas Plate. That was the best thing I had. We also got our bar drinks, mimosa flight and **** Mary, 10 minutes after we had our food. Wespent $84 and I won 't go back. It was over priced and not worth it.
Loved it! The pot roast and grilled cheese Sammy was delicious
