It's perfect for dining with friends, in a group, or for a romantic date night. The restaurant is BYOB, which is common in Collingswood. We visited during Restaurant Week and appreciated that they had two separate menus to choose from – a $25 and a $35 option. Two of us ordered from the Restaurant Week menus, while two ordered from the regular menu, and the restaurant happily accommodated our choices. The lamb dishes were delicious, and the appetizers were fantastic, with the crispy cauliflower being a standout favorite. They also have a variety of gluten-free and vegetarian options available. Overall, a great dining experience.
After trying several Indian restaurants in the area, including Philly, we can confidently say that Indiya is now our top choice. My husband, who is vegetarian, was pleased with the variety on their menu that catered to both of our preferences. We are eagerly looking forward to our next visit!
Make sure to try the cauliflower appetizer at Indiya. Although we didn't plan on having a vegetarian meal, we ended up enjoying the baby eggplants in coconut sauce and the delicious nine vegetable navrattan korma. The naan bread was also exceptional, one of the best I've ever had.
This was our second visit to Indiya, and we intend to come back again soon. We enjoyed sharing the crab cake appetizer. The tandoori shrimp were very good, but I couldn't call them great. My vegetable korma had an outstanding creamy sauce. It is a dish we have had often and this is the best version ever! The dal was, again, the best version of this dish I have ever had. I love the small serving of salad that comes with each meal. We ordered the mixed bread basket $4) and loved every bite. We had several pieces leftover and took the remainder home to be enjoyed again another day. We had room for dessert and chose to share the galub jamun. While there were only two pieces per serving, it did come with a small scoop of vanilla ice cream.
We love this place. Stopped in on a whim and come back every few weeks. the staff is awesome and the food is consistentlyswim827 delish!
