We tried the mushroom bruschetta and the pasta special of the day, both of which we would definitely order again. It was disappointing that they didn't have any desserts without cream, as my date has a cream allergy. Despite this, we will definitely be returning to Cabin.
My friend and I were up at the spa and wanted a beautiful meal to complete the day. We absolutely enjoyed our dinner there!
My husband and I finally were able to ditch our kids and are have a date night. We checked out Collingwood restaurants on TripAdvisor and loved the reviews for Cabin Bistro. It was recommended to make a reservation so that's what we did. Hands down the best cedar plank salmon fillet (wild rice, barley, cauliflower puree, charred leeks and tomato jam) and grey county beef short rib (pork belly, sticky carrots, oyster mushrooms and duck fat potatoes) we have EVER had! We highly recommend Cabin Bistro
My husband and I dined at Cabin Bistro after a lovely day out at Blue Mountain as part of a date night celebratory dinner last Friday. This small Bistro (seats only about 6 tables) is pleasantly rustic in décor and offers fresh, local and organic fare. We arrived a bit earlier than our original reservation, but were seated right away. Both of us opted for the Taster's menu, a 5-course meal which seemed an interesting variety of dishes. Overall an excellent choice. The first course of the torch goat cheese salad was a wonderful creation. I loved the generous slice of goat cheese, combined with beetroot and walnuts among local greens. The fried oyster Provençal was an interesting dish very colourfully presented, but the combination of flavours seemed to detract from the delicacy of the oyster. The prosciutto and asparagus was lovely - always a great combination. The main course of the Grey County beef short rib was a melt-in-your-mouth tenderness coupled with delicious local mushrooms, and flavourful potatoes. Finally the mixed berry fool was a light and simple dessert, perfect to end the meal without being overwhelmingly full. The service was extremely attentive and the spacing between courses was well timed. The Cabin Bistro is highly recommended!
Amazing food! The combination of flavours were sensational. This is by far the best hidden gem in Collingwood. Great local food which was a pleasure to all my senses. I would highly recommend this for a special night or an impress your date night. Not the cheapest food in Collingwood, but well worth it.
