Booked for last night but although it was a cold day and night it wasn't busy when we arrived. Had a pression each and I had chicken and ginger and my partner had duck, beef and lamb (he's a carnivore and was in heaven). Very nice bottle of Provencal rose too. Service was quick and friendly and the vat of oil duly arrived followed by hunks of dead animals and a bowl of very good square fried real potatoes. Fun to cook like this again and made a nice change. Restaurant gradually filled up too. Finished off with a creme brulee - heavenly. Very reasonable bill of 85e. Certainly go again. And they do have other food besides fondue.
We tried the Pierrades, you cook your own food on a very hot slab of granite. We had some beef, pork filet, duck breast and chicken, along with veggies, potatoes and dipping sauces. Not a suitable restaurant if you go alone, most of the meals are for a minimum of 2 person. They do not serve any appetizer, but the meal portions are huge. Great service.Recommended.
Unpretentious Italian place on the river. Not too expensive. Very tasty. Generous portions
We had a special advertised on a board outside the restaurant. 2 courses and a glass of wine for just over €15.We found the waitress to be very pleasant and the restaurant was spacious and clean.
Even before arriving in Colmar, France I heard Susan say over and over again how she wanted to go to a restaurant that specialized in fondue. Yes, she really likes fondue! So after arriving at our hotel, Hotel le Colombier Suites, we asked the desk clerk where the best place for fondue in Colmar was and she responded immediately by saying the Hot Brass restaurant. She also provided us with directions that we followed later that day. After walking the relatively short distance to the restaurant we determined that this was not one of those restaurants that you just happen upon while walking the streets as it is not on a main thoroughfare but rather on a quite side street and cannot be readily seen from the main shopping street. However, when you do arrive you know that you’re there. The front of the restaurant is decorated with some very eye catching design elements that let you know that you have arrived. Patrons have the option of dining inside or on the patio and we passed on the patio due to the heat and humidity. We were very pleased that we decided to eat inside with the air conditioning and the very stylish and comfortable interior. Part of the interior décor consisted of an art gallery as contemporary paintings with price tags hung on the walls. I really liked several of them and I regret not buying one in particular. The woman that seated us and served us was very friendly and very professional. Even though the menu was extensive with an assortment of dishes from the Alsace region, as you can probably guess, we already knew what we would be ordering even before being handed the menu. Fondue! We had a traditional fondue which consisted of a delicious melted mix of flavorful Gruyere, Emmentaler and/or Beaufort cheese and light dry white wine and the red wine that we selected to go with it really complemented the dish.
