I love this place. the food is delicious and when they order curries and rice from the theke all, but one of the 15 or so dishes tend to be vegan (a rice dish had ghee on our last visit.) are generous and the food is healthy and delicious. a plate of rice and five curries is 350 rupien.
We have visited ranbath twice, so far, and will be many more paints back before we leave colombo! for only 350 rupien they offer a lunch of red or white rice with 5 curries from a selection of maybe 10 or more curries. when we visited, only a dish (a rice dish) was not vegan-friendly, due to ghee, but the people who work here are happy and in the position to advise. we loved to have the choice of so many green veg after we travel these close to our youngest to find india, nepal and sri lanka, and the dishes are full of spicy taste! they can eat or take away. the restaurant is proud to eat plastic-free (and organic) food served on a ton plate and leaf, and to take in a leaf and carton. Note that there are elements in the menu behind the counter that are not vegan-friendly, so ask them if they are not safe. highly recommended!
After spending almost half a year in Sri lanka, I finally found my dream restaurant. it is all organic, practically completely vegan, super tasty, local, seasonal, conscious, healthy, transparent, friendly and affordable. fantastic (red) reis (5x) curries served on a lotus leaf for lunch and dinner for 350 rupien. but they have also arranged an expensive list of others. mouth watering sago desert made this visit unbelievable and I will come again definitiw.
Lovely little restaurant with lots of vegan options! We had the number 10 which is your choice of rice with 5 small curries. Big plate and cheap! Food was delicious... absolute gem!!! The owner even gave us a lift back to our hotel because the rain had blocked the road and we couldn’t get a tuk tuk!
