Trapezium has a large selection of Trapezium crafted beers to choose from. My favorite is the Lucky 46 New England IPA. They happily offer samples at no charge to assist in the selection of libation. We were warmly greeted and promptly seated in the rustic dining area. There are many large TVs for sporting events. Other times when I have visited there is live entertainment. When the weather permits, they have a large outdoor dining area with several sets of corn hole boards. This place has a lot going on! Brick oven pizzas are the main fare and they do a fantastic job. Trapezium offers a variety of appetizers including chicken wings and salads. Each time I visited Trapezium we are provided with consistently solid and genuinely friendly service. Tonight, Jasmine did a great job!
The bartender was friendly and served up the beers. Ordered the Monterey pizza which was okay. Crust was burnt while the toppings were soggy. Giving it t four stars for the tasty beers. The inside of the brick building was very cool. I was told it was an old cigar factory at one point.
Let me just start by saying that I [usually] like this place, so, I was taken aback by the experience I had with another customer that was witnessed and ultimately minimized by staff/my waitress. Our food had arrived to our table in one of the cushioned seated areas outside. My husband had just stepped away to the restroom and I was with my baby, preparing his food. A woman walks up to us and asks us if we were staying for trivia night. Unbeknownst to me, I said maybe and asked what time it starts. It was about 6:20 at the time and she replied, 7. I told her I wasn't sure if we'd stay, but we'll see, just so she could leave me alone. Next, she says well we're going to need your seats and proceeds to wait for me to get up to move. I look around and there's barely anyone there yet for said trivia night and there are other families occupying the other cushioned seated areas. I immediately felt singled out and it felt like a restaurant in the 1950s, where Black people were not welcomed or were designated to sit in a different area, as I was the only Black patron outside. After confirming with my waitress that there were no reserved areas for this trivia night, and that everyone and anyone could sit wherever they liked, I politely went over to the woman and told her that we were not playing trivia nor are we leaving our table. Just before we were done with our meal, I went inside to pay the bill and that's when my waitress apologizes to me. This was even more upsetting because I believe she was only apologizing to be able to get a tip. Why not apologize when it happened? Even further, why not speak up or call your manager to call out this woman's poor behavior and harassment? When you don't speak up about these kind of experiences, they get swept under the rug and YOU become complicit! Paying customers shouldn't be able to harass other paying customers!
I visited Trapezium one two different occasions. The first was a night they happen to have a trivia night, where I ended up winning tickets to come back for a drag brunch in a Sunday. I was going to originally give them 4/5 stars, but after visiting Sunday I wish I could give them more than 5 stars. Their pizzas are pretty good and they support a local bakery by using dough from them for their pizza crust. I love a good collab. Service was a tad slow and they were not super attentive on the trivia night. But, it could have been for any of the reasons that others have due to where we are as the world these days. But, our service was great, the hostess was attentive every time I walked past her. The morning of the drag brunch was exciting. It did take them a little to get the food out, but it was worth the wait. I learned a lot more that day about Trapezium. All super positive things too. One they opened up around the pandemic time frame. I'm sure they had some growing pains here and there, to be expected for sure and definitely understand with all that. Second, they seem to support the LQBTQ+ community hugely. I love that about them. They opened up their brewery for Tricities Pride Inc for a date in September so they could host an event. Tricities was having some issues here and there and Trapezium brewery stepped up to the plate to help. It warmed my heart to hear that. In all this brewery is great. Wonderful community support as well.
