My kids love going because it is right on the train tracks, and as luck would have it, we saw a train as soon as we got there which they loved. We saw half the restaurant was closed and asked why. We were told that they were renovating, but did NOT mention there was a limited menu. Had we known that they had about a quarter to a third of their normal menu, we may not have stayed. We loved their wood fire pizza and that was not an option (the oven is the larger room with renovations). Service was ok. They got our order wrong and offered to make me the correct item, but I was starving, had two hungry kids, and didn’t want to wait 15 more minutes. The server offered to comp it but then never did. The food was just ok. My grilled chicken was dry and the wings were overcooked. The fries are AMAZING and the kids’ chicken tenders were delicious.I would try Brakeman’s again once renovations are done, but considering how rarely we go out for a sit down restaurant these days, it was beyond disappointing. The cost was on the higher end and sandwiches no longer come with fries. We did get a basket of sweet potato which were delicious! I hope they can figure it back out as this was a great option that clearly isn’t right now. I rarely leave poor reviews, but feel they need to know so they can go back to the standard they gave had before.
48 minutes yes, we timed it for an under cooked burger “extra we’ll done please, not a trace of pink” came out … pink.Had to refill our own water while waiting… waitress never ever walked by to check while we were waiting.Don’t even know how it was… had to leave and currently sitting outside, waiting to see if it will be another 48 until we get it right, while the family finishes their average looking burgers.
Was really looking forward to trying Brakeman’s after hearing good things about the restaurant. We finally got our chance before attending a nearby concert. The restaurant is sparsely decorated and doesn’t play up the railroad motif. Simple tables and chairs, almost no pictures or the expected train equipment on the walls. The burgers were good, but nothing special.Service was very spotty. We ordered drinks and food at the same time, but the drinks came out about 10 minutes after the food was delivered, and only then after we asked about them. Not sure what happened to Brakeman’s, but it left us very disappointed.
Our first time here, and definitely won't be our last!! The service was exceptional, our waitress, Emily, was very friendly and attentive. What else friendly and attentive. The burgers were delicious and they even have gluten-free buns which were fantastic! All three of us were very happy with our mealsDietary restrictions: HeyThe burgers were delicious and they even have gluten-free buns which were very good!
Food was spectacular, especially the Mozzarella half moon bread sticks for an appetizer. The service was short staffed that day so it was a bit slower, but the waitress was awesome. The view of the mountains and trains passing was a def plus. Also the price was very reasonable for two people including an appetizer, 2 meals and 2 beers was about 55.My first time experience might make it a staple for me and my girlfriend!
