The garlic naan had an overpowering taste of baking soda and the chicken served with the tomato purée gravy was old and lacked flavor. I ordered a chicken curry, but it was bland with no spices. The lentil dal was simply boiled with salt, lacking the character of traditional dal fry or dal tadka. The Sambar, which should be a flavorful lentil stew with vegetables, tasted generic and possibly used frozen vegetables — it was incredibly underwhelming. The rice was dry and topped with frozen peas, and I couldn't understand why the peas were served on top of the rice, which was also cold and clearly not fresh. Overall, the food was tasteless, devoid of the spices and flavors that make Indian cuisine so enjoyable. While some may have a hard time finding satisfaction with food, I refuse to compromise on quality, and I respect good cooking, something this restaurant lacks. I was puzzled when they claimed to be an authentic Indian restaurant. When I asked about the food, they suggested that Americans don’t understand Indian flavors and don’t appreciate spices. This was a strange response. Shortly after, the chef's mother approached me, asking how my meal was. I simply smiled and said it was okay, and she seemed to indicate that I should leave when other customers arrived. I would not recommend this place for anyone seeking authentic Indian food. Thank you.
Since that experience, I haven't returned, despite missing the flavors. I've been waiting until I can cook it myself, which isn't difficult for me as I have all the necessary Indian spices in my pantry. I’ve never actually dined in at the restaurant, so maybe the portion sizes are better when eating there, but they really should be consistent regardless of how you order. This disappointing experience occurred well before inflation hit, so I can’t even imagine what their prices are like now. Chicken and rice aren't expensive ingredients, and the spices are easy to find. Making these dishes isn't complicated. It’s troubling to see high prices on such small portions simply because the cuisine is deemed exotic or premium. I could understand higher prices for something like goat or a more unusual meat, but this was just chicken. On a positive note, I give them 5 stars for service because the staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere is also very relaxing and not rushed, which adds to the dining experience.
We had high expectations, but the frozen parathas were accompanied by an undercooked and overly salty chicken dish.
Delicious South Indian cuisine here in the Loma linda/colton area. Most of the other Indian restaurants serve the Nordic cuisine, so this is always a refreshing change. They have been a staple food in the area for a long time and this is a test on their menu that was the test of time.
1st time there I ordered cofee when i wanted the spice tea. She was very arguing with me that I said coffee I didn't touch the coffee or anything and I told them bad service and you couldn't real understand them.they still charged me for the coffee that they took back they didn't offer for me to take it with me or still drink it food did not taste good when I'm used to the delhi place. I'll be staying to what I know Best and tell all my friends to stay away from this place. It was so unprofessional who's eating the food her or me that's why they shouldn't have kids running their place so I wish I could give them a 0 because I wouldn't even gave them one star...
