Lizard's Thicket - Columbia

While we visited South Carolina, we dined at the Lizard's Thicket. This restaurant has so much to offer: cleanliness, an inviting atmosphere, hospitality, and delicious food. We purchased two four-veggie plates, one meat and three plate, and a fried chicken sandwich. Everything was hot, fresh, plenty, and delicious. In fact, it was so delicious that I requested to compliment the cook, Jermaine, before we left the restaurant. Jermaine is not only a talented cook, but he is also incredibly hospitable to the customers. Also, we appreciated our particularly attentive young waiter, and the friendliness of the employees who work together at this restaurant. (They were especially grateful that we paid in cash! Columbia is blessed to have such a fine restaurant in their city, and Lizard's Thicket is incredibly blessed to have Jermaine bringing the customers back for more satisfying dishes!

Awful experience just now. I decided to go to lizards thicket for a late dinner and was treated very rudely by the cashier up front. She was mad as soon as I walked in the door, maybe because it was almost closing time I 'm not exactly sure. But this was my 2nd visit to this restaurant so I needed a second to look over the menu as I am new to it so tjen I decided to get the small plate and when I did she looked at me like I was pathetic. I decided on the small plate because I struggle to eat because I have severe loss of appetite due to medication I take for depression and anxiety so I have to eat small meals. So then they say they 're out of thighs which I ordered the thigh, mashed potatoes, and Mac...so the cook then offers 2 legs since their are no thighs. She says very rudely oh no give him one rolling her eyes etc. She treated me very poorly and was very rude. If the small meal is not for adults, do no put for all ages on the menu. Some people can not eat a full course meal. I then got a refund and will not be back. Will be following up with a corporate complaint. This occured Monday April 1st, 2024 at about 8:50pm. Whoever the cashier is working up front should be fired.

Gives home town cooking feel. Food waa served cool.

We like the meatloaf on Wednesdays! Best Mac and cheese.

Hamburger Steak was delicious ? customer service from the lady that took my to-go order was stupendous!
