Contribuisci feedbackI ordered the Burnt Ends, which are caramelized cubes of brisket in a cola grill sauce, and they were incredibly delicious! I also had greens on the side, as well as hush puppies that were fried to perfection, and the cucumbers were absolutely delightful. My friends shared some of their banana pudding with me, and it was amazing. Overall, the atmosphere was lively, with TV screens showing games and music playing at just the right volume—not too loud! I would give my first visit a solid 5 STARS and I highly recommend this place! Thank you for the excellent customer service and great food!
We were served by Sarah, who was incredibly friendly, attentive, and had a warm personality. We ordered a brisket plate with homemade slaw and bacon-wrapped jalapeños, pulled pork, and brisket nachos, along with two children's pulled pork plates. The brisket was the best I've ever had. It was perfectly cooked, far surpassing what I've had in Kentucky, Tennessee, and Texas; it was incredibly moist and flavorful. For dessert, we enjoyed homemade banana pudding, which was excellent—almost as good as what my grandmother used to make. I can’t wait to come back here!
Midwood Smokehouse wasn't initially on our list of places to try, but a quick search led us there and we were pleasantly surprised. This restaurant embodies the essence of a true BBQ joint, offering a fantastic atmosphere, friendly service both at the bar and at our table, and delicious food with generous portions. We both opted for the small size, and it was a challenge to finish everything. I ordered the brisket, which was excellent and came with one side. I chose the greens, which were wonderful, and my meal also included some delicious hush puppies and pickled cucumbers and onions that reminded me of old-fashioned fridge pickles. While I don’t live in Columbia, I will definitely make it a point to return to Midwood Smokehouse the next time I’m in town.
Context: We have eaten in hundreds of bbq places and also smoke our own meat. Service was great. Beans were a bit disappointing. Ribbons, chicken, brisket and sausage were all good, but nothing was extraordinary. The hot Bbq sauce liked the best of the four. The atmosphere was good. Overall a good place if you are local, but not something to make a special trip for.
Great overall service and food. I had the meat platter which consisted of 4 proteins and 2 sides $30). The pork ribs were really tasty and the meat was tender, the brisket was good as well the other two were good, nothing outstanding). I enjoyed the bbq beans and the Mac and cheese a lot. For dessert I had the pecan cobbler, which was a great ending for my meal. It was a lot of food I had to take half of it home), and service on point.
