We were met by a cheery hostess at the ground floor entrance, an even cheerier hostess in the restaurant itself ... and the friendly, helpful service continued from there on; our waitress couldn 't have been more helpful accommodating! The food selection was, as usual, varied; for starters, I sampled the breakfast sausages, smoked salmon capers, antipasto salad South Carolina potato salad, all of which were delicious. For my main course, I was spoiled for choice, so I pigged out on roast duck with braised red cabbage roasted rib eye with horseradish, accompanied by asparagus spears baby carrots ... so delicious, I took a second small helping! I cannot comment on the bouillibaisse or shrimp grits, the other entrée selections offered that day, but suffice to say, they both looked delicious! Then came the dessert table ... what a wonderful selection! I wanted one of everything, but I fear I would have done a pretty good reenactment of 'The meaning of life ' if I had done that, the variety was so impressive! Needless to say, even though the view through the mist rain wasn 't great, the meal experience itself was, as usual, perfect there is simply no Sunday brunch within 100 miles that can hold a candle to it, we will be back ... soon!
I reserve at 1:30 but there is only open until two and don't rotate
The food was hot and delicious and the wait staff was excellent and friendly
As with previous visits, from initial greeting downstairs in the foyer, right through to the final presentation of the bill, everything was superb. One thing I did notice on this visit, though, was the background music was not only more in line with a genteel dining experience, it was also much softer ... many thanks!!!
I have dietary restrictions, and during my visit, I found the servers to be inconsistent with their information. When I asked about the ingredients, each server provided different and contradictory answers. One server claimed that there was no meat in the shrimp soup, but I discovered it had meat myself, and later, another server confirmed that it did contain meat. It's concerning that they seemed unaware of what was in their own dishes. I would recommend avoiding this place unless you are someone who can eat anything without concern.
