This is my newest secret corner. Tucked in the back of an antique shop, it's the kinda place you find in a good story. The place has character. The food is amazing. The atmosphere is perfect. Country, homey, and calm. And the best peach iced tea. Take second to unplug. Sit here with someone you love, order a sandwich and some tea and talk in a place where it just feels right.
This is our second time here, and just like the first time it did not disappoint. The cafe is located in the back of an antique store in Columbiana, they have a great selection of breakfast and lunch on the menu. Last time we were here my husband got the fried Bologna sandwich and said besides him they are the only ones who could make one. I have to admit I?m not a bologna lover. Actually I just don?t like it. BUT his looked so good last time I decided to give it a try. I asked for it to be crispy and it was perfect on fresh bread from Mancini?s. Our waitress Kayla D was super fabulous, she came to let us know as we were waiting that they went to the market behind them to get fresh bologna. The bread was toasted perfectly, the bologna was crispy it had provolone and a roasted cubanella pepper. The sandwich was huge!!! We both only ate a half. We also has a cup of broccoli cheddar soup. You can tell the soups are made from scratch, big pieces of broccoli and carrots. Definitely a destination location in Columbiana! Stop out and give them a try. Tell them Sassy Jacci recommended them.
The food lives up to its long cook-to-order wait time. You won?t leave here hungry! The pancakes, Belgium waffles, and French toast are all mainstays. Coffee is just ok.
Very mixed experience on a Saturday visit after lunch. The good ? wife ordered apple bacon grilled cheese which she enjoyed and our son ordered French toast with bacon which he enjoyed. He also ate my Cafe Hash which he liked Prices were reasonable in this day and age. The bad ? The waffles I had were overly done and unfortunately led to disappointing meal for me. I would have sent them back, but in took 45+ minutes from sitting down to receiving our meal. I did not mention it to the waitress because of how busy it was and she was working hard. Upon checkout they asked me how the meal was and I did mention the waffles, and they gave me 10% off which I appreciated-and as a result upgraded the stars for this review. Bottom line Make sure you have plenty of time if you decide to eat here on a weekend as things are made to order. We will give the place another chance in the future and update our review then. But definitely visit on a weekday instead of Saturday
