Capital Ramen Food Truck - Columbus

I tried this food truck for the first time yesterday, and I'm so glad I did! I placed my order in advance, and the food was ready right on time. The service was incredibly friendly. But the highlight was definitely the chicken ramen—it was fantastic! So flavorful and delicious! I was pleasantly surprised by just how good it tasted!

I wasn't sure what to expect for $11. However, once I ordered and received my two chili dogs, I realized I had stumbled upon a great deal. These were generously sized grilled beef hot dogs smothered in flavorful beef chili, topped with shredded cheddar cheese and a mix of red and green onions. They were generously slathered with spicy mustard, sweet relish, ketchup, and Hawaiian BBQ sauce. They looked incredible (just check out my picture!) and tasted even better. These have instantly become my favorite chili dogs, and I will definitely be on the lookout for this food truck whenever it’s in the area!

I never expected a food truck named Capital Ramen to serve the best chili dogs I've ever had. I'm not a big fan of ramen, primarily because my experience with it is limited to the store-bought instant noodles you cook at home. So when this food truck popped up nearby, I thought I should just stick to my usual lunch. However, a colleague mentioned that they offer chili dogs on their menu. Skeptically, I browsed through it and was surprised to see they also have wraps, tacos, chicken dumplings, hot dogs, and, of course, chili dogs! Unsure of what to expect for $11, I decided to give it a shot. When my order of two chili dogs arrived, I realized I had stumbled upon a great deal. They were loaded with spicy mustard, sweet relish, ketchup, and Hawaiian BBQ sauce. They looked AMAZING (just check out my photo!), and tasted even better. These instantly became my favorite chili dogs, and I will definitely be on the lookout for this food truck the next time they’re in the area!

As someone who loves ramen, this wasn't even close to the best I've ever had. There was a thick and noticeable layer of oil on top of the broth which I almost never see from a premium bowl (or any other . It really made the whole experience a mess and quite off-putting. I think if I were to drink the broth afterwards, I wouldn't be able to keep it down. The pork bowl had bits of caramelized(? pulled pork which were tasty but didn't really add much to the flavor. Also, the egg was just ok, a bit gritty and bland. I feel bad posting this because the dumplings were delicious, but for a $12 bowl, you're better off just buying a packet of Shin Black ramen at the grocery for $2.49. The owners seem really nice and I hope they increase the quality or decrease the price of their ramen because it just wasn't good.
