The only reason to turn off a star was that we could not catch the eye of a server to refill. I guess they were under servants. When we went, the payment line went back from the checkout too much and partly into our dining area. Another popular place for lunch. We're leaving.
Chef Lee's is by far the best Chinese restaurant in Columbus GA. Your Mongolian beef, egg drop soup is delicious. Mu Shu Schwein was also delicious. The place is beautiful, has several waterfalls, a bridge that you can walk over the glass to see the fish underneath, and outside they have an amazing koi pond with fish and fish food to feed them.
The food is a bit expensive, but very tasty. The egg rolls are so good, but they need more filling. The filling should not fall out when you immerse it in the hot mustard. The filling is only mainly cabbage, which is cheap, so that they should pack the packs more. I ordered Mongolian beef. A little on the sweet side, but good. I also ordered the canton soup. It was definitely filled with large pieces of pork, carrots and cabbage. I'd come back just once in a while. You also have to do a deep cleaning.
Chef Lee?s has been my favorite restaurant for years since I was a kid. The last two times I was back in town? ve away and both times it was as hot in the restaurant as they did not even open the air. The fans were laid around the dining areas, but they didn't help at all. I thought maybe the air conditioning went out and that was a single time, but went months later and it was just the same. 90 degrees out and no air! We had to go and not even eat there. Do not know why they spent money on these robots if customers cannot even eat comfortably. I really hope this can be addressed because I would like to go back! Eating usually tastes the same, maybe a bit more blazing, with the exception of the egg drop, which seemed quite different than her old egg drop, which was my favorite. But the air thing is the biggest problem and I hope they can fix it because I would like to come back if it could! I understand that there is an adjustment time and I hope that the new owners can finally get the restaurant back into its former glory!
The place is beautiful and the details inside are very cute. A staple in town. Has several competitors now that new restaurants have arrived with amazing food, but very few compare when it comes to the ambience inside. Best won ton soup ever- normally they are so salty- not this one
