I want to provide an update after trying a few more pizzas. The cherry and prosciutto pizza is absolutely amazing! You’d never expect cherries on a pizza, but they nailed it. When my friend ordered it, I initially thought they meant cherry tomatoes, so I was pleasantly surprised to find dried cherries instead. I also tried their Caesar salad, which comes with whole romaine leaves and has a bit of pepper for a nice kick—it’s honestly one of the best Caesar salads I’ve ever had. And their martini and pickle cocktails are delicious! For a pizza place, their mixology is impressive. I'm eager to try the pickle pizza next since I'm a big pickle fan. They have happy hour all night on Tuesdays with $8 cocktails. Dinner at Paulie Gee's can get pricey, so it's definitely worth going on special days or hitting up happy hour between 4 and 6. After sampling more of the menu, I'm excited to visit Paulie Gee's more often; they've completely spoiled me for any other pizzas!
Let’s Talk: This is probably my favorite pizza spot in Columbus, and their “3 for $39” deal on Wednesdays is unbeatable. I recommend checking out their other daily specials and taking advantage of their happy hour, which ends at 7 PM—so accessible! The service here is extremely friendly, and they don’t take reservations. While the service wasn't rushed, our waitress made sure to check on us regularly to facilitate orders and bring the check when we were done, ensuring that others could be seated. I wish we could have spent more time chatting, but I understand the need to manage seating during busy times. Let’s Eat: I tried the Hellboy with added sausage, and it’s my all-time favorite. The Donna Soup Baby is new to the menu and totally gave me vodka sauce vibes—SO delicious! Let’s Booze: The Spicy Lil Pickle was fantastic, reminiscent of a pickle margarita, with just a hint of pickle juice but a sweet and salty twist. I’d rate it a perfect 10/10! The Chili Smash was wonderfully smoky from the mezcal, and the ginger beer added a nice acidic sweetness. The Matcha-Tini was also refreshing without being overly sweet.
This pizza joint will transform you to Brooklyn- from the tablecloths to the vibey bar area. And the pizza is absolutely delicious. We wanted to try one of their classic pizzas as well as the squares and both were made to perfection. From tasting high quality ingredients to the pizza being the perfect consistency this was a solid option any day of the week for a little fancier pizza night.
Paulie Gee's has officially become my favorite pizza spot in Columbus. Both the wood-fired round and deep-dish pizzas are exceptional—the crust is flavorful with the perfect texture and just the right amount of chew. Many of the pizzas come topped with hot honey and/or a generous helping of arugula, which is the best combination. This place tends to get busy, and I usually experience a short wait when I visit, which gives me the perfect chance to enjoy a beer and get excited for the pizza feast ahead. It's also worth mentioning that they offer fantastic happy hour deals on weekdays!
