Everything fresh and high quality. Homemade lasagna w/bechamel sauce! Was like eating velvet. Best I’ve ever had, which sucks as I live in DC area. I need to find a reason to come back to Columbus. Good Lord.
Went to L G on the recommendation of my hotel receptionist and couldn't have been more happy. Small menu, but that's because everything is homemade. The staff are top notch and the owner comes around and checks on everyone. If I loved locally I would visit at least once a week. Such a little hidden gem that I drove past 3 times before I finally found it
Need a reason to go to Gahanna? This is it. Lola, Joe and staff prepare home cooked Italian meals from their little kitchen. Many had to wait for a table, even with a reservation. No one seemed to mind.<br/ The food was great. Plentiful portions are welcome when it tastes this good. Our server, Sandi, knew the menu inside-out and guided our selections. Lasagne, Lobster Ravioli and Chicken Parmesana at our table. This is home cooked Italian on the level you hope for; comfort food made from the best ingredients by people who care; from the bread to the Lemoncella Cake and everything in between.<br/ I hope that you get to meet Lola. She'll put a spin on it you'll never forget.
Best Italian food in Columbus. Period.. I am a sauce snob. I admit it. I grew up in a family where my Italian immigrant grandparents made their own sauce every Sunday. In 40 years, I've not found it's equal. Until this weekend, when we stumbled upon Giuseppe and Lola's Trattoria. It is authentic Italian food at a reasonable price. Think Olive Garden is about as Italian as Ragu? This place is for you. Although to be fair, Joe's sauce and Lola's desserts will satisfy just about any taste. You could easily spend 2, maybe 3 times as much money on Italian food downtown, in the Short North or Victorian Village. Don't bother. If you're looking for the best Italian food in Columbus, it's at this little hole in the wall place in Gahanna. If the lasagne does not make your eyes roll to the back of your head, I am concerned that you are not human. But honestly, they could put that red sauce on anything and I would eat it. Hard as it may be, save room for dessert. We had the bread pudding more like a custard and it was phenomenal. They fill the cannoli to order, so the shell is sturdy and crisp, like it should be, and they don't skimp on the filling. While we had no room for the tiramisu, it looked amazing, too. Do yourself a favor have Sunday dinner any night of the week go immediately to Giuseppe and Lola's.
Found this gem thanks to great reviews. Fabulous quaint Italian food. I had the lolas crepes. Mmmm mmmm!!! SauceWas creamy and I loved the almondsSprinkled on top. Perfect amount of crunch!! I'd rate an 8 out of 10. Corn sauce was a tad salty and they were busy with limited wait staff so we had to wait a bit for bill refills etc but still not a reason too miss this hotspot.
