The crab cakes were fair at best and the mustard sauce was way over the top for the delicate flavor of crabmeat. Also the texture of the cakes was mushy, despite being lumpy crabmeat. This was also true for the salmon, which was very mushy, perhaps previously frozen. The fingerling potatoes were over done and lacked flavor. I only ate half of the salmon, as I couldn't stomach the rest. For the money spent, it certainly was not worth the price. And I will not vist this restaurant again. Frankly, the only upscale part of this restaurant is the prices! The rest you can have.
Brunch on Sunday. If you have never had chicken fried bacon, you owe it to yourself to go here on a Sunday!Taylor waited on us VERY attentively and was a joy. The biscuit platter was outstanding, as was the eggs Benedict.
First time here. Had charbroiled oysters appetizer, 2 waters, Chateaubriand, and veal chop...$120. Let me start by saying our waiter was Jon and he was wonderful, attentive and funny! Now...oysters..not bad but need little more cheese, garlic and butter...real Louisiana style! Also, $20 for 6 oysters is a bit ridiculous... At least 10 would be more acceptable! Chateaubriand was very good, not surprised it's their most popular dish. Veal chop itself was very good but the risotto was not good at all. Not seasoned whatsoever, I mean I don't like heavy seasoning but this tasted as of there wasn't a drop of salt...when my husband doesn't clean his entire plate, that is the tell tale sign, and he's not picky...lol. The portion size I will say is very good, most fine dining is very small portions with a high price but this place has perfect portion sizes as far as the dinner plates were concerned. I may consider trying this place again...we were told the menu changes every 3-4 months and they have brunch..so may visit again.
Our party of 3 were excited to try some great steaks. Unfortunately, it was so disappointing to pay such a high price for steaks that were subpar. Mine was full of fat and gristle. Another’s was so tough it took forever to chew. Overall the steaks had very little taste. Our server was very good but she could not give us much help in choosing a wine. One a positive note, we ordered grilled oysters for an appetizer and it was superb!
I loved this place! The atmosphere decor is gorgeous. My almond crusted salmon was SO good! Can’t wait to go back!
