The staff is very welcoming, and the drink prices are quite affordable compared to other places nearby. The lunch was decent, and I particularly enjoyed the crispy chilli chicken. The terrace offers a lovely view. I highly recommend this place!
For breakfast, Anri's offers a simple yet satisfying menu with freshly squeezed juice, eggs, tea, toast, butter, and jam. It's the perfect spot to start your day with the morning papers in hand. As for entertainment, this is not the place for a lively beach party, but rather a peaceful retreat to ponder life's mysteries while enjoying the soothing sounds of the sea. Of course, be prepared for some weekend disruptions from rowdy student groups partying nearby. It's a small price to pay for the tranquility that Anri's offers during the rest of the week. Just remember, they'll be gone by Monday.
This restaurant is situated at the end of the beach road near Martins Comfort hotel, in a less crowded section of the beach. It is the only eating establishment at this specific location. The restaurant offers sunbeds and a covered seating area where guests can enjoy a peaceful atmosphere. It is particularly popular in the early evening when visitors come to watch the sunset and savor some food and drinks. A perfect spot to relax and unwind.
This shack is at Sunset Beach, a little south of the main Majorda beach, past Martin's Corner. There isn't much else on this part of the beach thankfully - no watersports, hawkers, or crowd. The shack is set back from the beach, but nothing obstructs the view. My wife and I spent a better part the day lounging on the sun beds they provided, soaking in the view, sipping on cocktails and juices, while reading books. The drinks are very reasonably priced (a Pina Colada for Rs. 80!). The food was a bit of a letdown - very greasy tasteless Veg. fried rice, and a very average veg club sandwich. But we didn't try any of the seafood or meat which may be better. Unlike many other beach shacks that offer sunbeds with just an umbrella for shade, the beds here are under a thatched-roof structure, making it comfortable to be there all day without getting sunburnt. Wonderful for making frequent trips into the water and then drying off on the sunbeds. We were there during peak season (Jan 3) so there was a minimum spend required to get the sunbeds for free (Rs. 500), but it was totally worth it. We look forward to going to Anri's on our next visit to Goa.
Amri's is owned and run by Rita and her family and is set directly onto Sunset Beach. It is a perfect setting, especially at 5.30ish when the sun goes down. The food is excellent - especially the beef chilli fry (but keep that to yourself, the less people who know the better!). We ate there most days, either breakfast, lunch or dinner ( 2 out of 3 some days!). Rita is so welcoming and obliging and if you want something special, such as a huge lobster, she will provide with a day's notice. The prices are average for the location, but it is the setting that's exquisite. She also has sunbeds on the beach and to the side of the shack for hire (free if you spend more than 500 r/s in the shack). I love this little gem and can't wait to visit Rita again in 2013.
