El Coco Pirata - Commerce City

The food is outstanding, and the restaurant is very clean with a pleasant atmosphere. The menus are available in both Spanish and English. This was my first experience dining at a Mexican seafood restaurant, and I was impressed! They offer a variety of options, including shrimp, calamari, octopus, fish, and even sushi, all with a delightful touch of Mexican spice. I will definitely be coming back. The average price per platter is around $17. They also have a limited menu for children. (The picture features their fried calamari appetizer, which is hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious.)

The food was average and a bit expensive considering the portion sizes of some dishes. However, the service was unacceptably slow for a Tuesday evening when only three tables were occupied. There were 11 of us, and it took nearly an hour for our food to arrive. When we requested the bill, it took another 30 minutes. We got tired of waiting and ended up going to the counter to pay and leave. Additionally, the atmosphere was not family-friendly due to the content being shown on the monitors. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place for families.

The food was disappointing! The ceviche was mostly just a mix of fruits and vegetables, with very little seafood. The waitress was overly flirtatious with my husband, which felt uncomfortable and seemed like she was just trying to get better tips. Her behavior was quite disrespectful. Additionally, the menu prices were too high for food that didn’t taste good at all!

Food pretty good. Service a bit slow but there was a fair crowd in the middle of Sunday afternoon. Big downside for me was that it was freaking LOUD! Hard to hear the server or my wife. Then the wandering musicians came around, upping the db level. Still would come back. It is an experience, albeit a loud one.
