I personally thought the wallaby tartare was better than the highly praised scampi dog. The main courses, including the deer, fish, and lamb, were all delicious. The restaurant also offers a great variety of wines. If you're looking for a special spot to celebrate an anniversary or other occasion, this is the perfect choice.
World class restaurant. Better than many of the restaurants back home in Los Angeles. Each dish was a perfect combination of flavor, texture, and temperature. Each dish is farm-to-table and the main ingredients are traced to a nearby location in New Zealand. The dishes are clearly thought out carefully, but the kitchen is also run efficiently only a few minutes between courses). In particular, we had the oysters, salmon, asparagus, deer, lamb, strawberry sherbet, and papaya pavlova. Everything was wonderful, but the deer and salmon stood out. The pavlova had an really interesting texture and temperature gradient. We ended up paying $150 NZD $90 USD) each, and it was well worth the money.
One of the best meals I've ever had. Beautiful and classy ambience. Sitting near the kitchen, you can see the well-oiled machine working and how much attention they pay in their craft. Every dish is superb. They have the best broccoli I've ever had and wouldn't mind if the whole meal is just broccoli. All rounded up with great service. Highly recommended and will definitely come again.
Everything we had here was amazing! The Scampi Corn Dog, the Wallaby Tartare, oyster and venison dishes were incredible. We sat at the chef bar and everything coming. Out of the kitchen looked great. Fun experience!
The restaurant is located at the heart of Auckland city, with a beautiful view facing towards the harbour. Many windows so there’s ample natural light. Service were good, they’d explain to you where the ingredients and food is from. The food was good, it wasn’t particularly memorable for us but there were some snacks that we really enjoyed. Overall it’s a good dining experience. A bit noisy when it gets crowded and the food is a bit slow, especially in between dishes. Can take up to 20 minutes, which sort of interrupts the dining experience.
