If you want to escape into a rustic and majestic location of the Caribbean mountains, inspired from the beginning of 1930 in the hills of the Dominican Republic, this is the place to go. The lush and ripe vegetation of cocoa trees, coffee, avocado, mangoes, wild flowers and more will be around you. We visited “Finca La Protectora” in Ranchete Puerto Plata, as a flight to connect back to nature. Our hosts Mario and Raquel were amazing what an excellent customer service and entertainment. They prepared us fresh roast pork with curtains for dinner and later we harvested with hot organic cocoa in their country. If you want to experience real Dominican land surrounded by nature, this is the place to go.

It was an extraordinary experience, I think I will never forget that place, it is a direct contact with nature, something different from what tourism offers. I just want to go back again and again. Thanks to all the staff who receive you there; Josefina with her charming and unforgettable food and her warm embrace, Mario with her reception and joccy that makes you feel part of the family and the lovely Rachel who with her attentions, hug and her knowledge that leaves us all perplexed and eager to stay. That place is part of me. But above all I invite you to have the experience, you will surely not regret it.
