I 've heard rumours this place was once the shining star along the restaurant strip of Majors Bay Rd. But a change in ownership several years ago has ensured its dismal reputation. Never one to take much notice of bad reviews, I decided to give Il Tratto a go. Maybe I should have listened! Il Tratto 's prices are far too high for the small portion sizes. A plate of non-so-fresh king prawns will set you back $40, while a couple of crumbs, which they call garlic bread, costs $4. The pizza 's are okay, but a little on the doughy side, and toppings are scarce. If you like noisy venues and average, overpriced food, this is the place for you. But as for me, I will not be returning any time soon.
I havent been for quite a few years to Ill Tratto Ra Ro since it had changed ownership. On a whim we decided to go and tryout the food. Really disappointed. First approach the first words do you have a reservation. No and since that moment it was all down hill. We were made to feel like we where an inconvience to them for not booking. We had a waiter that really gave me goose bumps, unfriendly who couldnt pull a smile! Our order was simple, white bait fritters, Tratto ra ro pizza, rocket salad and soft drinks. Nothing special as it was an early dinner. We were asked if all food was to come out at same time 'yes . The pizza came out first , 10 minutes later the white bait fritters with the salad. Not too impressed as the fritters was someones course! Pizza I have had better. Fritters must have been bought frozen and just thrown in the fryer no taste. Salad, I think the lid from the salt shaker must have fallen off as there was so much salt on it that it was impossible to eat. At no point did any of the wait staff come over to ask us how the meal was or was there anything we needed. It was keeping tabs on our plates as soon as they where empty to remove them and get us on our merry way. This place has really lost the WoW factor the old owners use to bring to enhance the reputation of the venue. It still seems a popular place but for me I dont think I will be going back. There are far more superior places to have a simple pizza!
Ordered at pizza to be delivered -took an hour and 15- and pretty much a disappointment 28 dollars and hardly had any topping it was supposed to be a supreme we also ordered olives, fetta and pans de casa- the olives and fetta came tossed together in a takeaway container-pretty poor effort
Best Woodfire pizza around, lots and lots pasta and pizza options. Mains are amazing, specially the filleto and salmon.
Great Italian with food reasonable prices and good service. The wine list is small but enough for a cheap night out.
