Arthe Tea Room And Art Cafe.

It was a birthday treat for me from my wife. We were met with the words WE DONT HAVE ANY MORE SEATS OUT SIDE. That's OK my dear wife said as I have booked a table. We were marched out to the terrace where we were shown our table. We then waited and waited for the menu while watching other people who arrived after us being served. We waited more then we asked for a menu. Half an hour had passed and after we selected our food we continued to wait. Finally out of hunger we asked if we could order. Then we waited then waited some more. I cannot say what the food is like because after an hour we got up and left to go elsewhere to eat. I cannot recommend this place its food and especially what is meant to be a special birthday or indeed even if you just want to eat.

Nice food and good selection on the menu. This is our second visit to Confolens and the Arthe is still the most beautiful setting for dining. However, on both occasions that we visited on this trip (once for lunch and once for afternoon tea), the service was very slow and not particularly friendly.

Extremely slow service and not at all friendly. Been twice and both times have suffered the same bad service and non welcome. Will not be returning

Lovely! Very pleasant terrace along the river with a view of the old bridge. Very good salad, hearty. Good wrap. Cakes and cheesecakes in the tradition of this kind of place. Particularly welcoming owners. PMR access without difficulty to the room. A few steps to the terrace. Well done.
