The Yewdale Inn - Coniston

We stopped off here for a coffee and light lunch. The service was friendly and welcoming. We sat outside because we were with our dogs, who were made equally welcome, with plenty of water bowls available. The coffee was excellent, but the food was a little disappointing; a particularly dry Cumberland sausage, likely cooked some hours earlier, and very well done chips, which were ok if you like them crunchy. I enjoyed the coleslaw, and as I said, we can’t fault the service.

We visited on Sunday afternoon which was great, a lovely atmosphere, great food and good service. Tuesday evening on the other hand was absolutely awful! Spoilt by young members of staff, messing about, swearing and generally creating a bad atmosphere. Completely spoilt our evening. Also disappointing that pizza's weren't being served.
