Booked into this restaurant for a special night while staying in the old town of Conques. Not realizing that it is a long uphill walk from the restaurant to the Hotel Ste Foy where we were staying, we were most disappointed that on the day...of our booking we were able to arrange a taxi to the restaurant but not home. Our Hotel tried three taxis and the restaurant but no one was able to help. So......if you are staying in the old town and your old legs don't want another climb after a special night either book transport or change plans.
Simply fantastic: parfums on their teller, imaginative display and composition, creatiw over worte. would be in london prices would add extra 0 and waitlist couple weeks. pity for the bad taste of the painting on the wall. go all happy food lovers. to pursue this part of the world. whomever is not agreeing with us, should the line at macdonald. vive la france!
The location of the restaurant/hotel is very relaxing, right on a small river with views of green hills/mountains. the aperitif was served outside and was a really nice start. for the epure menu we went in. the 8 courses brought some surprises in unknown taste,...for example a soße of douglas tree in combination with trout or a pure of smoked sweet potatoes in combination with baptism. we had a very nice organic champagne that fits the different courses very well the restaurant has a great choice of organic champagne! the presentation of the courses was thought through, although sometimes a bit colorless and pale in comparison to the presentation of the courses on the website, where there are many flowers and crumbled together with the curses sorted. – especially the forellenkurs looked a little poor, although the taste was quietly beautiful. they do not visit this restaurant for its interior design, although(!) this is a little nightmare and looks more like a random collection of found things, then a thought through a suitable frame for the botschaft of the kitchen.
Mr. busset is a magician! we have experienced most of the famous three star restaurants in france, from troisgros to bras, from trama to blanc, but this is only the second time when we come from a restaurant with such an emerveillement. the first time...was in cancale in the maison de bricourt, when olivier roellinger was still at the top of the site. herve busset (who only got one star from the michelin guide and earns one or two more) plays with crumbs to create amazing and tasteful dishes. the service is professional, competent and attentive. a great GREAT restaurant.
