In our group of six, one person was overlooked when it came time to place orders, and his salad was forgotten (though it was promptly addressed). Additionally, another member received their entrée only after most of the table had finished eating. Some people in our party remembered better service from previous visits, which contributed to our disappointment. Overall, it wasn't a terrible experience, but it certainly wasn't a great one either.
I visited Macaroni Grill for the first time and tried several dishes: Shrimp Portofino, Mom's Ricotta Meatballs with Spaghetti, a side of Crispy Brussels Sprouts, and Tiramisu for dessert. The main courses were quite good, especially the meat and sauces. The Brussels sprouts were tasty, but they had a slightly burnt flavor. The complimentary bread was soft and enjoyable, though it had a sprinkle of salt on top; I think we would have preferred it without the salt. The Tiramisu, on the other hand, was outstanding. The service was excellent, and the atmosphere was pleasant. We decided to come here partly because my wife had seen Macaroni Grill featured in a recent movie. It appears to be the only location in the Houston area, and we were glad we chose to visit.
