Normally, I wouldn’t mention my drink in a review, but as a bit of an iced tea enthusiast, I have to say I finished it so quickly that I never even saw the bottom of the glass. For our appetizer, we ordered spinach dip, which often turns out to be a greasy mess of cheese. However, this one was different. It featured bright green spinach, perfectly cooked, combined with large chunks of artichoke, all bubbling in just the right amount of cheese to make it a dip. It was served with a generous portion of fresh, toasted baguette, cut at an angle and lightly seasoned with oil and herbs. It was exceptional. Next, I ordered the double-cut pork chop, accompanied by bacon jalapeño mac and cheese and mashed potatoes, while my wife chose the shrimp and grits. I have to say, both of us couldn't help but let out a delighted exclamation upon taking our first bites of what has become one of the best meals we’ve had in a long time. The pork was cooked to perfection, juicy on the inside with a crispy exterior reminiscent of hot cracklings. The seasoning was just right, and it came with a dipping glaze that initially puzzled me since I'm not a big fan of sweet flavors. But it complemented the pork beautifully, leaving me feeling quite nostalgic. Now, about the mac and cheese—normally, I avoid ordering it, as it often feels overdone and boring. However, the addition of jalapeños always entices me. I could not believe how delicious it was—fresh jalapeños nestled in a gooey cheese sauce with bacon. Absolutely amazing. The mashed potatoes were also terrific. As for my wife’s shrimp and grits, they were nothing short of remarkable—perfectly cooked shrimp paired with sausage, onions, cheese, spices, and butter. It was so rich that I’d recommend sharing it among a few people unless you're a massive fan of grits, as the incredible flavor can become a bit overwhelming over time. We didn’t order dessert, but the prices here are very reasonable given the quality of the food. You should definitely visit. I’m confident that anything you order will be a fantastic rendition of that dish.
A friend recommended this restaurant to me, and I had a delightful lunch there where I tried the Texas Veggie Salad—it was absolutely delicious! My husband and I returned for dinner about three weeks ago, and it was another fantastic experience. He ordered chicken fried steak, jalapeño corn, and bacon jalapeño mac and cheese, while I went for the TRG Top Chop, which was incredible, accompanied by cornbread and mashed potatoes. We also indulged in crab cakes, mac n cheese bites, and ended our meal with a brownie. Everything was AMAZING! We will definitely be back.
This is our favorite spot; we've never had a bad meal here. We can always count on enjoying an amazing meal. We absolutely love this place!
Loved the food and we received wonderful service by Madison. Highly recommend the coconut shrimp appetizer, Chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, bacon jalapeño Mac cheese, B.L.A.T (bacon lettuce avocado tomato) on the jalapeño bread and the sweet potato fries! Yum!!!
I have been here a multitude of times and it never disappoints. The food, the service and the ambiance are all excellent. The gumbo here is the closest to what my wife makes at home. When we have visitors from out of town this is the place we take them to for the most pleasant Woodlands restaurant experience. If there is any thing to complaints about, it would be the parking... This is a popular place and you will probably have to hunt for a parking place and wait to be seated.
