The entrees were nice. The crayfish was good. The disappointments were the prawns, the scallops and the squid. You can feel the prawns were not fresh as you start to peel the shell off. The flesh is not plump and no typical pleasant sweet taste. The scallops and squids are obviously not fresh. They had the similar texture of being dried and then soaked into water to look like fresh. Well, the menu didn't say it is fresh, so it is not a cheat. But you would expect fresh seafood in this small seashore town. We also had breakfast there, but I forgot to take picture. The breakfast was standard. The watermelon juice was nicely blended with mint. Overall, seafood apart from crayfish is not recommended. Breakfast was good to have there.
Before I thrive on this place, I had a very nice experience in a small fishing business with very fresh tiger prawn, so I grew up my expectation. I was, however, confidently rejected. they were nice. the cancers were good. the disappointments were the garnel, the scallops and the squid. Outrageous prices for poorly prepared food. We waited 90minutes for stone cold mashed potato and a tough pork chop with a few sesame seeds on top and an overcooked piece of fish sitting on fruit salad.
I am sorry to write this but it was not a good nite The staff need training and seemed to be thrown in the deep end Christina was the only staff member on point I realise it’s hard to get good staff up here but you need to work with the ones you have training. My husbands meal was extremely undercooked and had to be sent back. He has never sent back a meal in his life. I believe you had a new Chef he also needs support. It was our date nite, a special occasion, and it was not good. good luck
Sitting outside in a balmy tropical breeze, overlooking palm trees and being served by a newly arrived delightful Danish backpacker gobsmacked by the heat! What’s not to love? Happily we also had fabulous food, including coral trout both battered and pan fried, which is some of the best fish we’ve ever eaten. It set us up for a holiday of eating coral trout everywhere in FNQ, but here remained the prize winner. We did not expect food prep of this quality in such a remote place. Would go back in a flash.
