R got a seafood tofu soup and found that the prawns were quite off, almost as if they were frozen too long or maybe over cooked or just not very fresh?? No real complaints about the stone bowl but nothing spectacular either. With the abundance of Korean restaurants in Coquitlam, will likely decide to pass on this one.
I've been looking for a good Korean restaurant for a long time and I finally found it.We ordered pork bone soup and sulungtang. Both were flavourful and had quality very similar to what you would get in Korea. The beef in sulungtang was tender and juicy (you don't often get that quality in other restaurants). The pork bone soup had lots of meats and I loved the cabbage. Each dish was also affordably priced.I would confidently share that the dishes we had were better than Sura or any other restaurants in Vancouver entirely.I hope to go back and try more of their delicious offerings!
The reviews looked so good that my fiancé and I went to try, despite ignoring the most obvious signs to avoid such as an empty restaurant and high prices. Our server however was very friendly was attentive to our needs, our orders came pretty fast too. It consisted of bland steamed egg bowl and seafood pancake in serious need of salt. The saving dish however was the grilled pork which was very pricey but delicious. The three dishes cost roughly $68 after tip, hope they improve soon as it really looks like a nice place to dine.
The signature set menu is good with value-$25 per person now. Other single meals with a rice we tried need to use more ingredients. Rice itself is good though. Squid-beef dish- was actually bad for $16 something.(don't order this. So much soup which not needed for this dish. Ox knee soup only had 9-10? small pieces in the soup for $16 something, too. The soup was bland- not deep in taste. Side dishes could be better, but some people may like the variety. Those sides are from the lunch set menu, so it is better to make it standard for all dishes after lunch time is over because anyway, there are plenty left over for dinner servings. You can't just give 2-3 side dishes to someone and 5-6 side dishes to others. It has to be the same. Overall, it has a big potential if these guys do exactly what Sura in Downtown have done in quality. Don't need to just copy serving dishes and types of foods. Quality should be better to win it over as I heard the main chef is from the place. Question marks, but around the area, this place is probably only choice for the set menu and dining space is comfortable and big with good social distancing. Beer- draft beer is serving here. Haven't tried yet. :
Best korean restaurant in Vancouver.Quality food and nice service!
