Contribuisci feedbackWe've been patronizing Milestones for years & this location is conveniently a hop, skip & jump from where we live. I've been obsessed with the California salad - an item that always seems consistent & satisfying. I've been a hand full of times this year. Early in the year for dinner & brunch.Once mid-week in May with a large family group (of 18 including young children under 5 & my parents in their mid-eighties) Milestones deserves credit in the past for decent service & execution for handling - family style dinners, with variety of choices off a wide selection on their menu. In general we've HAD solid execution a few times in the past & have found food value general good & service pretty much as expected - considering this is not "fine dining". We've been happy enough over the years to at least come back as a large group at least once a year.More typical of a visit, I met up with a girlfriend for an evening visit over dinner & everything was as expected. That easy going visit had me suggesting a return for Sunday Lunch with my husband & Mother- in-law last weekend. That's when the needle scratched the record... & went off the deep end. After 1 HOUR AND TWENTY-FIVE minutes we had to flag down our server to find out what was happening. Apparently the KITCHEN was a "bit behind" & our order was going to be "coming up". The manager of which I can only desribe here as a sweaty dripping mess, with an uncomprehensive manner swept in to deliver our food about 10 minutes later. I was shocked when both my husband & my M.I.L informed me their Chicken Sandwich, Fries & French Toast were STONE COLD & missing key ingredients listed. ( bacon & more than 3oz of chicken!) After disappointment in seeing anything resembling a positive reconciliation of the train wreck delivered, & having cold food - for the sake of ease, I tried to be stealthy & excused myself from the table, asked our server to meet me at the paymen5 station at the bar to settle the bill. (We had beverages & I of course, expected a resonable transaction to take place.) When the first copy handed to me didn't show any adjustment, I asked for a revised copy. I had to wait 15 minutes at the side bar, while our server must have been getting the okay from the "manager". Who ďidn't come to see me as I expected. I didn't have the will to be more forceful in complaining. There was a nominal adjustment for one of the 3 meals. I paid the balance & actally left our server a geneous tip, albeit with a reluctance. I expected more, at least in the form of a direct apology from the manager. How embarrassing when your very easy going mother-in -law asks "Do you come here often?" to which my reply was.... "Apparently, not anymore".
Great food and service. Convient location not far from Coquitlam Centre. Some families go here, but if you mind loud screaming and crying children, you might choose to attend dinner later in the evening.
I meant to review this at the time. Pop up ads reminded me, so thanks for that, at least. Only our second time here. The first time was good, not great. This was a family celebration. Very busy and noisy was the first impression. The promotion at the time was Tex Mex or santa fe or similar. My poor husband opted for the promoted entree. When it arrived it looked like an appointment: just a little mound in the bottom of a bowl. Total rip off. My son's both ordered fish tacos. Only later did after I ordered did I realize these were made with basa, a really cheap and inferior fish. The price did not reflect this, but the taste and texture did.I had the schnitzel and it was really over cooked. The waitress offered to replace it, and we agree she would take the most overcooked piece back to the kitchen while I started on the less overdone one. Both it, and the replacement that arrived later tasted as though they had been cooked in old dirty oil. Others in our group were satisfied with their meals, but no one raved. The margaritas my mom and I had were expensive (10$? Maybe 12?) And very watery. All in all a very poor experience. We were reluctant to complain, because it was a special occasion and my mom's treat, so one doesn't like to diminish that person's kindness. The only good thing I can say is we had a very good server, who seemed to pick up on disappointment and tried to mitigate it, including by bringing us a free dessert to share. I'm sorry I have forgotten her name.
The location and parking are good ...unfortunately that should not be the best points of a restaurant. The food is average...the service can be slow at times and the noise level makes it difficult to talk......cater to the yuppie crowd.
Good food brought to you by pleasant people. You get what you pay for here and if you leave hungry, then you really have a huge appetite. Sad to say though, my favorite dish is no longer offered there - the Chili Chorizo Fries, but I'll still go there!
