For $60, the meal included the chicken soup, spicy squid, raw crab, pork belly, stir fried glass noodles, mini assorted pancakes (veggie, fish and fish patty), and banchan. The chicken soup was good. The chicken was tender and meat easily pulled off the bone. There was rice inside the chicken. One crab was included and it was marinated in a spicy soy sauce. I wish the crab shell was included, but it was not. The crab meat was sweet and fresh. The spicy squid was mixed with radish and green onions. There was not much of the squid itself. The pancakes were alright. There were three different kinds. My child ate two of them and really liked it. The glass noodles were tasty. Banchan selection was good. Overall, I think the price was very good for the amount of food. It was just enough two adults. Service was efficient and friendly.
I have dined here a few times in the past and the food is decent and heart warming. The owner/manager lady however is extremely rude. Was very disrespectful and had this air of superiority. Refused to let me eat outside food inside the store despite me ordering about 30$ worth of food inside the store. Very little flexibility with customers.
So, I have been to this restaurant twice now with my lil sister...The very first time we went there we ordered the tonkatsu...and spicy noodle soup. It was delicious. Especially, their tonkatsu is amazingly delicious. The portion size is great also. The second time we went there, we ordered chicken cutlet and seafood pasta...The food quality and portion were literally cut in half. The service was almost non existent. We had to wave at the staff members just to get a cup of water. The restaurant was almost empty. There was 1 other table that had customers. That 's it! I asked the waitress, if it was possible to get our food after already waiting for over 20 minutes. She stared at me and said well, its not ready and walked away. In total, we waited almost 40 minutes just to get the food. Not going back there
Heard a lot about this place from others about the samgyetang (chicken ginseng soup) but ended up getting the cutlet combo $20 tax and tip which included a chicken cutlet, a pork cutlet and 1 piece of hamburger steak. The side they had was a scoop of rice with sesame seeds on top and some chopped up cabbage salad with Korean regular dressing (ketchup mayo lol). Just like a bad date, the chicken and pork, couldn't tell difference because it was drier than the Sahara desert and should've called it meat jerky and packaged i honestly wouldn't have felt ripped off. The 1 piece hamburger steak and the rice was the reason 2 stars cause the garlic taste and texture with pieces of garlic etc was delicious but the looks were ummm, look at my photo. Very suspectible. Maybe it'll be better to eat in person but as for now I'm too scared to even try and order the same combo and waste another twenty bucks and probably end up just trying the samgyetang.
I was actually cravin jjambbong when my hubby asked to eat here instead. I eat samgyetang at my parents house so I was reluctant on trying this place. But I 'm glad we stopped in here for the first time! He ordered the beef skillet dish and I ordered the reddest looking soup as red as jjambbong the soup was so yummy! I like the fact that it had the glass noodles and lots of veggies too! Unfortunately, I could not finish it because it was too damn spicy. On the menu, it lets you choose the level of spice, but I did not get that choice perhaps it was because I 'm korean? The meat dish looked OK in my opinion, but hubby loved it. He even ate my bowl of rice that came with my meal. He also loved the secret salad sauce, which basically is ketchup and mayo (all Koreans know this). Not sure if I 'd be back to try their samgyetang but I 'd definitely be back for the same dish I had!
