Havanna - Córdoba

Pope Francis authorized yesterday (04/05/2017) the promulgation of the Vatican decree recognizing a miracle attributed to the intercession of Catherine of Mary Rodriguez, a Cordoba religious, contemporary and collaborator of the holy priest Brochero, who founded the congregation of the Slaves of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The Pope's decision means the imminent beatification of this woman – born on November 27, 1823 and died on April 5, 1896 – who had a very singular life. Before being religious, he was a wife and a mother, and a promoter of the education of girls and young people at a time when books and training were, in practice, a privilege of men.
