I have to say we didn't even try the food. A long time after we entered a grudging waiter, it seemed to ask what we wanted. We have asked very politically about the menu and a bottle of champagne. He shot the menu and a siphon water. We explained that we wanted a boat of natural, sparkling water, like what the next table had. He just said we should apologize. He didn't want to wait for us from the Get-Go. My friend got the impression it was just a thinly disguised case of racism against him. I was just horrified. We left.
We arrived late for lunch, but were still welcomed. We had the tasting menu that was a delicious selection of dishes in the Middle East. English was very well spoken, and service was very friendly. Good bottle of Malbec and very cheap. Even though we were the last in the restaurant, we weren't rushed. Beautiful traditional Middle East decor. Very recommended.
We stumbled over this unpretentious middle eastern restaurant while we walked the streets of Cordoba and decided to make it a dinner destination. We were not disappointed. Friendly service (no English) and simple but authentic food was provided in abundance. The setting was clearly authentic with...loving lampshades, music and middle eastern ornaments. The best of all, it was a great value ARS$50 per, plus a bottle of wine (ARS$65 her best bottle, a vintage 2008 Malbec in perfect condition). The food? all finger food Empanada like pastries with a medium eastern meat filling; homous, baba ganous, yoghurt dives; flat bread; Kibbe, and a raw spiced minced meat dish; dolamades. We have finished a selection of candy and good Turkish coffee. Very recommended!
I must say we didn't even try the food. A long time after we entered a grudging waiter appeared asking what we wanted. We very politedly asked for the menu and a bottle of sparkling water. He tossed the menu and a siphon water. We explained we wanted a bootle of natural, sparkling water like the one the next table was having. He just said "we're out of it" without trying to apologize or anything. He clearly didn't want to wait on us from the get-go.
