This restaurant is a hidden gem of Chinese cuisine in Memphis. While many rave about places like Asian Palace and New Asia, this spot is just as good, if not better. We frequently order the Hainanese Steamed Chicken, Peking Pork, and steamed oysters, and everything is always well-seasoned and delicious. If you're in the mood for some authentic Chinese family-style dining, be sure to give this place a try!

This is my boyfriend's and my favorite Chinese restaurant. The egg rolls are so flavorful that I started to wonder if this is how they’re meant to taste. If you enjoy crab Rangoon, this place serves some of the best I've ever had. Overall, the food is excellent, and more people need to discover this gem!

Upon arrival, however, I was somewhat disappointed. The entrance had an unpleasant odor reminiscent of dirty rags, and the decor was old and worn. An older Chinese lady greeted us; her English was limited. She led us to our table, took our drink orders, and handed us the menu. It was similar to what you'd find at any typical Chinese restaurant across the United States. After ordering drinks and the pan-fried dumplings as an appetizer, I was pleasantly surprised by the wait. They took a little longer to prepare, but they arrived hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious—some of the best I've ever had. For my main course, I opted for the cashew chicken. The generous portion sizes, combined with piping hot and freshly made food, truly impressed me. Unlike many Chinese restaurants that prepare everything in advance and simply reheat it upon ordering, the meals here were made fresh to order. The vegetables were particularly vibrant and flavorful. Overall, this is undoubtedly the best Chinese restaurant in Memphis—an all-too-rare gem. While it doesn't stand out aesthetically and could benefit greatly from some marketing, the quality of the food is exceptional. I highly recommend giving it a try!

Very authentic Chinese/Cantonese food, one of the best in Memphis. Customer service is ok.

Found my new go-to place for Chinese food. I order simple things like pork fried rice and a lot of other places even mess that up. The wife and I tried Golden City Chinese Cuisine and enjoyed it very much. The portions are very generous and food was fresh. I brought left overs to work 3 days later and it still tastes good reheated. Service was great, restraunt was spacious and clean. I only gave it 4 stars and not 5 because there is awalys room to improve. Will continue to go to Golden City Chinese Cuisine for dinners.
