Swingletree Inn

The bar staff at this restaurant were very disappointing as they did not welcome us and made us feel unwanted with no smiles. There were mistakes made with our order and the food was very poorly presented. Throughout our visit, we felt like we were a nuisance as the bar staff seemed more interested in flirting with male customers. It's a shame because we used to enjoy our lunches at Swingletree before the recent changes and lack of management. We like the new look of the restaurant, but we miss the previous staff.

All 5 of us enjoyed our meals. It was quiet when we went in, which was nice, and staff were friendly. We would definitely recommend, and will be back.

We went to a restaurant on Friday night with a group of six. Five of us ordered steak and ale pie, while one ordered chicken pie. However, when the orders came out, we received four steak and ale pies and one chicken pie. We informed the waitress that there was a pie missing, and she went to check. She returned and explained that they had run out of steak and ale pie. Unfortunately, the person who originally ordered it declined to have anything else. If we had been informed earlier, someone else could have swapped their meal.

We made a reservation for a Christmas dinner well in advance for December 22nd, 2022. When we arrived, our table was nicely set up with our name on it, indicating they were expecting us. Unfortunately, we were informed that the full Christmas dinner was not available to us. The meal we did receive was disappointing in quality. Furthermore, the menu on December 22nd clearly stated that a Christmas dinner could still be ordered, yet we were told otherwise.

The Swingletree is my local, but over the last year or so since the redecoration, it has changed, sadly for me, it has gone down hill. The food is now too expensive, along with the drinks. The staff, don't seem to know much about the beverages they sell, I asked for two glasses of Pinot Noir, the young bar staff, did not know what that was! So I ended up with house white. I now go to the Bull's Head, in Callington, it maybe a mile away from my house, but it is excellent value for money, with great food just the way the Swingle Tree use to be. Come on Swingle Tree sort your self out.
