Although we did not dine there, we enjoyed several drinks. Matthew, the staff member, worked diligently cleaning and sweeping the area. It was my birthday and I had a wonderful evening. Matthew went above and beyond by playing our favorite songs and even took photos of our celebration at my request. We definitely plan on returning in the future.
The food at this restaurant is consistently delicious and never disappoints. The staff are friendly, kind, and attentive, always ensuring that your meal is enjoyable and offering to help in any way they can. Even when my dogs come in wet and sandy from a walk along the shoreline, they are welcomed with a water station and biscuits. The staff are patient and attentive to the dogs, which means a lot to me. The restaurant also hosts events like the cliffside cinema, which was phenomenal, as well as dog walk events and supports local charities and businesses. It truly is a lovely community of staff and patrons, and I could not ask for more.
We have been frequenting Wax for nine years, but unfortunately, this year will mark our final visit. We have always cherished Wax and viewed it as reconnecting with an old friend, but this year, the renowned nachos were disappointingly dry and appeared to have been left under a heat lamp for an extended period of time. It was a struggle to separate them with a knife and fork, and the portion size was noticeably smaller than before. Despite the restaurant being quiet, the same issues persisted with the main courses. The pizza crust was cold and tough, while the seafood linguine lacked sauce as it had all been absorbed by the pasta. The overall appearance of the restaurant seemed unkempt and tired, in need of a makeover. Unfortunately, we will not be returning.
Some friends and I visited last night (Thursday) for the Tapas menu. We were blown in the door by the wind ! But they had the log fire going so sat by that. The lady serving us was very friendly and helped with our choices. 3 tapas and a glass of wine for £20, we thought was very reasonable as the portions are on the larger size for tapas. I can recommend this for a fun evening with the girls. All the food was lovely but the meatballs and chorizo skewers were my favourites.
Sadly I felt the cheese pizza was tasteless I feel tomato sauce needed seasoning and maybe sharp cheese sorry to moan but I wouldn't return
