Visited twice for an off season weekend amazing to have somewhere that serves food all day (currently 5 days a week from 12 until 8) in a quiet Cornish village where options for hot food are limited. I'm here on a solo break, and I have been made to feel so genuinely welcome by staff (and locals have been kind too). The menu is very unpretentious and includes excellent pizzas. In these days of celebrity chefs (I live in another part of Cornwall), the White Hart is a real breath of fresh air. Really so grateful to the staff, a massive thank you!
We had supper here recently and couldn't help noticing that this was a traditional English pub. It appeared that many locals called in here for a quick pint on their way home from work. The atmosphere was dry friendly if a little noisy. My wife had s lasagne which she said was OK but I had a pizza which was excellent. The portions were very generous. All in all, a pleasant experience
We booked for Sunday lunch today and the whole experience did not disappoint. Lovely bar staff, friendly locals, very reasonable prices and the most enormous delicious roast. We had beef and pork. The largest light yorkies ever. Crispy roast potatoes. A dish of fresh veg to share and lots of gravy. A good honest pub and food to beyond our expectations. Next time we're over this way, we wouldn't hesitate to visit. Thanks to all.
We have even at the White Hart twice during half term. This is a really friendly pub with decent locals, fab staff, good food and fair prices. We felt welcome and will return in the summer.
